SW Div.1 Wrap Up for Rd.14 (8th August 2015)
North Pine Baptist continued their good form to defeat Logan Uniting 3-0 at home.
Raceview defeated Logan Metro by the same score-line on the road to keep their slim final's hopes alive.
Rosewood United had a good 2-0 away win to neighbouring Brisbane Valley.
In another surprise result, Westminster Warriors drew 1-1 with the ever-improving Salisbury Baptist girls who are looking towards 2016 as a finals year, considering most of the girls played U.16 football last year.
In another close encounter between these two great rivals, home ground advantage reversed the 2-1 result from the beginning of the year, a the Blackstone United girls not only edged past West End on the weekend, but also claimed the Premiership with still two rounds to go. A phenomenal effort, considering both of these teams were playing Div. 2 last year. Congratulations to the coaching staff and the players of Blackstone United!!!
With Blackstone cementing their 1st placing with 42 points, and West End possibly holding on to 2nd on 33 points, the interest now lies in the scramble for 3rd and 4th place with Westminster 30, North Pine Baptist and Rosewood United on 29 and Raceview still with a faint chance on 25 points.
The rest of the teams are looking at finishing the year on a positive note, especially since the old age goes, "You're only as good as your last game!" so it would be nice to end up with a win or two in your final games of the season.

SM Div.1 Wrap Up for Rd.14 (8th August 2015)
In a double-header at Yandina Park, St Pauls' were stunned by a late goal to share the points in a thrilling 2-2 draw.
In the follow-up game, Whitehill and the Latin Golden Boys turned on a master class of attacking play and in the first half hour there were no less  than 20 opportunities to score. It was end to end stuff, with referee James Peall allowing the game to flow and the magical skills of the LGB on display, opposed to the more conventional team play from the Whitehill boys. Finally, the boys out west broke the duck and stole the points 2-1, to ease some of the pain from last week when Blackstone United scored with the final kick of the game! Great work boys!
In a crucial game for both teams, home team Sunnybank Saints couldn't shake off Mansfield Eagles and the game ended up 1-1.
Blackstone United continue their goal-fests for another week, but ended up losing the front-runners Brisbane Athletic 4-3.
The final game saw a valiant effort from North Pine Baptist as they travelled to Westminster Warriors and took home a valuable point with a 1-1 draw.

SM Div.1 Match of the Week - Rd.14
St Pauls 2 drew with Logan Metro 2 (H/T: 1-1)
From the outset, St Pauls were determined to secure the three points and maintain their equal first position, but, the Logan Metro boys had their own plans of securing a top four berth and final's action for another year.
In fact it was Logan Metro who took their opportunity and opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a strike from Taj Legese. The lead didn't last long as St Paul's plying coach, Dale McConnell had Logan Metro's pull off a great save from a powerful shot, but the rebound fell kindly to Daniel Wang. Before he could shoot, he was bundled over and from the resultant penalty, McConnell stepped up and buried the ball into the net for the equaliser.
The half time remained at 1-1.
Referee Micallef had his hands full for the second half as both teams gave it their very best to secure the valuable three points on offer. Nevertheless, his experience certainly defused many a tense moment as the players played with determination and passion for their mates and their clubs. After frantic end to end action and some wonderful goal-keeping from both gk's, the ever alert Daniel Wang rose high at a back post from a cross / deflection to put St Pauls in the lead with only about 10 minutes of play left. The visitors never game up and the momentum returned to them. A couple of great saves from Nick Chin kept the visitors at bay and as the game was heading towards a 2-1 home victory, a piece of brilliance from Yassie Boualen tied the scores. After receiving the ball on the right flank, he cut inside and from outside the box on an acute angle on the right, Boualen unleashed a wicked shot that found the upper right hand corner for a screamer of a goal. No wonder the Logan Metro boys were delirious as they piled on top of the goal-scorer. A 2-2 seemed to favour the Logan Metro cause as they moved to 23 points and one behind 4th placed Mansfield Eagles, whilst St Pauls fell behind Brisbane Athletic and are in 2nd place 2 points behind.
